April 6, 2008 (Sunday) 4:39 am

Yep, it's 4:39 AM and I'm still up...which is pretty good, considering I didn't sleep on Friday night either... I'm suprised I can still think straight!

I went out to Shoguns (UMMMMM) to celebrate Lacey's birthday. It was fun. We have been celebrating Lacey's birthday at Shoguns (like a Benihana's) for at least 3 to 4 years now. This is the first time that Darlene (Lacey's Grandmother) wasn't with us. She passed away this past August. But we remembered her! Here is a picture of Lacey's card I made. It's a slider card. I am just learning to rubber stamp, so I definitely need improvement in that department! The cupcake is dimensional (I stamped two images & put one in front of the other)

Front of the card.
Here's the card opened. The red dots are hotfix crystals.
I got a couple new Cricut cartridges. One is Mickey & Friends cartridge & the other is a Jasmine cartridge (fonts). So tonight, I thought I'd see if I could actually do something with them. Here's the results! Mickey Mouse is cut in layers on the Cricut and then I paper pieced him together along with the letters (from the Jasmine cartridge). Bet you can guess who this one is going to!
Here's the inside...it's a pop-up card!
Here's a side view.
Here's another card I did...stamped on this one instead.

Guess it will be a Mother's Day card!

I took a class at Just4Keeps today. They had a really cool card class. Made 14 different cards. Those girls up there are so cool! They taught different techniques at each workstation.

We learned to doodle on this one.

Stamped & Worked with felt flowers on this one!

Used Punches & Stamped & Sprinkled glitter on this one!

Here's the inside!

Learned to Emboss with black embossing powder on this one!

Embossed the inside with blue embossing powder.

Learned how to layer flowers & use buttons as embellishments. Also used felt, ribbon & rubber stamped "Happy Birthday". Used Glue Dots to stick the buttons on!

Learned to used the Accu-Cut system to cut out the felt butterfly and stamped!

Paper pieced the icecream cone, punched circles with a punch for the icecream and used a paper hole punch for the sprinkles & embellished with ribbon! And then learned how to use the Quickutz Revolution to diecut the letters!

Used Ribbon, the Revolution Quickutz cookie cutter diecuts for the cherry and learned about the Xyron Sticker machine to attach the diecuts!

Used rickrack as embellishment, and stamped the Happy Birthday's on scallops cut from the Revolution's nestables scallops.

Learned to layer paper (cut from the Accu-Cut) and then used paper flower embellishments and stick on rhinestones for the middle of the flower.

Did the same technique, just horizontally (I know, probably spelled wrong)...brain fart!!!

Used the Xyron Runner, to print the music background and the Happy Birthday. Used the Quickutz Silhouette to cut the flower. Also used sandpaper to distress the flower, the Xyron Sticker maker to adhere everything & Glue Dots to stick the button on it!!!

Learned to use different size punches to make the design for the front cover. Also used the Xyron Runner to make the "Celebrate in style", and used the Xyron Sticker maker to adhere the dots & the saying.

Other than that, not much else has happened. I haven't went back to the dentist yet. I think I have caught bronchitus (I know, that's spelled wrong too-lack of sleep & too lazy to look up the correct spelling!). Anyway, can't go back to the dentist til I get to feeling better or at least until I can take a deep breath without coughing!

We heard from our daughter. She's doing good. She sounds tired. The Army is getting their money's worth from her! She enjoys the married life, (when she actually gets to see her new hubby). They work at different camps.

My youngest went back to college dorms on Saturday night. He came up Friday nite, did laundry. He was going to back Saturday afternoon, but found out that I was making egg rolls for supper, so he hung out with his friends in the afternoon and stopped by our house right before he heading back to college to grab a few (9) eggrolls to take with him. (He can operate a microwave!!!) LOL!

My oldest son will be here on the 13th with his family for his weekend warrior GI Joe thingy. I get to spoil the grandkids! YEAH!!!

Well, I'm signing off for now. Have a great day!!!
